Senior Robotics Software Engineer, Thunder

Responsibilities

• Own mission autonomy systems and services deployed to customers.
• Write software to improve products and scale mission capabilities to additional customers.
• Collaborate across teams to plan, build, and test complex functionality.
• Create and analyze metrics for debugging and monitoring.
• Triage issues, identify root causes, and coordinate next steps.
• Partner with end-users to translate needs into features while balancing user experience and engineering constraints.
• Travel up to 25% of the time to build, test, and deploy capabilities in real-world environments.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional industry experience working with C++ or Rust.
• Strong engineering background from industry or school, ideally in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
• Experience building software solutions involving significant data processing and analysis.
• Ability to understand and navigate complex systems and established codebases quickly.
• Willingness to work on critical software with real-world impact.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% for testing and demonstrations.
• Active Secret Clearance required.
• Preferred: background in Physics, Mathematics, or Motion Planning for modeling and simulation and physical systems.
• Preferred: experience developing and testing multi-agent autonomous systems and deploying them in real-world environments.
• Preferred: experience with feature and algorithm development and behavior trees.
• Preferred: experience developing software or hardware for flight systems and safety-critical functionality.
