Job Description The Nurse Practitioner provides medical consultation, routine patient care, and follow-up as directed. This position requires population specific competencies and adherence to National Patient Safety Goals based on the level of patient contact. This role reports to the supervising physician and Operations Manager Practice Management. Responsibilities Initiate and complete a detailed patient assessment. Initiate the order of laboratory tests, radiological examinations, and other routine diagnostic procedures. Diagnose the actual or potential health problem or need and plan therapeutic intervention based on data analysis. Order and initiate appropriate medication, treatment, and consultation based on data analysis. Perform routine procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing (excluding tendons, arteries, or nerves), wound care, venous and arterial blood draws, and manage simple conditions caused by infection, trauma, or other disease processes. Educate patients regarding prescribed treatment and medication(s). Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Current Oklahoma Nurse Practitioner license. Current BLS Certification. Ability to communicate effectively in English. Potential for exposure to infections and communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment, chemicals. Must follow standard precautions. This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements.
