Job Description Job Description Gas Turbine Assembly Technician (Assembly Specialist) Houston, TX 77095 (Onsite) | Shift 1 (AM shift) | Pay: Competitive (based on experience) Summary Now hiring a Gas Turbine Assembly Technician for a high-skill rotating equipment role in Houston, TX. This Assembly Specialist position focuses on complete assembly and disassembly of gas turbine and compressor packages and related sub-assemblies. If you have strong mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing environment and can read blueprints, work to tight tolerances, and safely handle rigging/lifting activities, this is a strong next step. Gas Turbine Assembly Technician candidates with turbomachinery, compressor packaging, or rotating equipment assembly experience will be prioritized. This is hands-on mechanical work in an industrial production environment with a strong safety and quality culture. Responsibilities Assemble and disassemble gas turbine and compressor packages and related sub-assemblies Interpret and follow complex assembly instructions, specifications, and blueprints Perform alignments, installation, and adjustments to meet required tolerances (tight precision work) Take precision measurements and document results (calipers, micrometers, gauges, indicators) Inventory, clean, stage, and visually inspect components prior to assembly Safely offload and handle parts using proper rigging and material handling equipment (forklifts, hoists, cranes/jib cranes as applicable) Identify deviations/nonconforming parts and communicate issues to leads/engineering/quality Perform and document cleaning, minor repairs, and preservation activities per work instructions Maintain a clean, organized work area and comply with all EHS and PPE requirements Train/mentor less experienced assembly technicians and support cross-training in test/packaging as needed Qualifications 5+ years of rotating equipment mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment (gas turbines, compressors, turbomachinery, heavy industrial assembly) Strong blueprint reading and ability to follow detailed work instructions and sequencing Experience working with precision measuring tools and documenting measurements accurately Skilled with hand tools, air grinders, and specialty torquing/bolt stretching tools (as applicable) Experience with rigging, lifting, and safe material handling practices; forklift/crane certification preferred High School Diploma or GED required (or equivalent extensive relevant experience) Ability to work in a plant environment (noise, heat, physical work; lifting requirements apply) Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship Keywords: Gas Turbine Assembly Technician, Assembly Specialist, Rotating Equipment, Turbomachinery, Compressor Package Assembly, Mechanical Assembler, Precision Measurement, Micrometers, Calipers, Alignments, Rigging, Crane, Forklift, Industrial Manufacturing, Blueprint Reading.
