Job Summary

The Cost Accountant, based in Salt Lake City, Utah, will report to the Director of Finance and play a key role in supporting the organization's financial operations. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records, analyzing cost and financial data, preparing financial reports, and providing insights that help drive informed business decisions. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles and cost accounting practices. What a typical day looks like:

1. Perform periodic review of Profit and Loss (P&L) account to ensure that all the postings are done as per the defined Policy, Process and Procedures.
2. Compare the Actual with Forecast / Quote and ensure that the variances are properly researched and required adjustment postings are done in the books.
3. Collect the business reasons for the remaining variances and report appropriately.
4. Support Balance Sheet accounts reviews, Customer requirements, Inventory processes & analytics, Month End activities, Audits (Internal & External), Forecast preparation, Cash/NWC procedures, Compliance and Corporate Accounting requirements.
5. Review the accounts on periodic basis to identify any potential risk and ensure that the same is mitigated properly.
6. Ensure that all the book close related /reporting activities are properly planned and executed on timely basis with utmost accuracy.
7. Work with relevant teams to prepare the Forecast / Budget for the related accounts.
8. Work along with Operations team to improve the business / operational metrics.
9. Be familiar with relevant Accounting, regulatory and reporting requirements in the Controllers Handbook and RCTS.

The experience we are looking to add to our team:

• Typically requires a B. Com / B.C. S / M. Com / MBA /BBA/ BBM, any other commerce and Accounts Stream degrees.
• Typically requires 2- 5 years of experience in similar position.
• A professional certification is preferred - A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), America Production Inventory Control Society (APICS), Chartered Accountant (CA), or a Certified General Accountant (CGA).
