Franciscan Health Dyer Campus 24 Joliet St Dyer, Indiana 46311 The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing ultrasound imaging, operating sonographic equipment to obtain images of patients’ internal body parts to support diagnoses, and provide insight into medical issues, concerns or conditions. The Ultrasound Technologist works with and assists the physician in the performance of assigned procedures. This position assists in the training of students and sonographers in ultrasound. The Ultrasound Technologist maintains optimum timeliness, accuracy, proficiency, efficiency, and safety during the execution of duties, and works closely with patients to ensure they have an understanding of procedures and are comfortable during procedures. Responsibilities 8‑hour shifts Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures Practice effective team functioning Provide education to patients and students Maintain records, respect confidentiality, and integrate PI process Responsible for environment and equipment Observe universal precautions and infection control and safety Qualifications Required certificate in ultrasound Required associate’s degree or certificate in radiology or ultrasound 1 year ultrasound preferred Basic life support program (BLS) - American Heart Association Registered Ultrasonographer (ARDMS) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography within 1 year required American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification - ARRT (S) within 1 year Travel Travel is required: up to 20% Equal Opportunity Employer It is the policy of Franciscan Alliance to provide equal employment to its employees and qualified applicants for employment as otherwise required by an applicable local, state or Federal law.
