Pharmacy Technician - Cheyenne, WY / Dublin, GA

Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

No. of Positions / Candidates Required: 26 total

Specialty: Pharmacy, Meds by Mail (MbM): processing non-VA prescriptions for CHAMPVA beneficiaries, plus call center operations

Place of Work (City/State): Remote. Personnel must reside within 50 miles of one of these VA facilities:

• MbM: Cheyenne, WY; Dublin, GA

• CMOP: Chelmsford, MA; Hines, IL; Lancaster, TX; Ladson, SC; Shawnee, KS; Murfreesboro, TN; Tucson, AZ

Site: VA CMOP Dublin & Cheyenne Meds by Mail

Duration: 12 months contract

Shift Schedule:

• Federal holidays may be designated workdays, with at least 48 hours' notice except in emergencies.

• Day/Evening/Night/Weekend/On-Call

Credentialing / Onboarding Time: 6 8 weeks

Certifications:

• Pharmacy Technician Certification - (PTCB/NHA)

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Special Skills Needed:

• Computer proficiency sufficient for data entry, navigating pharmacy information systems, and accurate documentation

• Ability to read, understand, speak, and write English fluently

Responsibilities:

• Enter prescription data

• Review and process external (non-VA) prescriptions for CHAMPVA and related programs through the Virtual Pharmacy Service

• Perform call center triage

• Communicate therapeutic change requests to provider offices

• Educate patients and caregivers on proper medication use

• Complete clerical and documentation tasks per MbM SOPs

• Work strictly within the scope of technician certification. All entries are verified by a supervising VA pharmacist, and technicians make no independent clinical decisions.

• Handle PHI in compliance with HIPAA and the Privacy Act (PWS p.4)
