Electrical Trades Instructor

Benefits 401k (eligible after 90 days of employment and at least 18 years of age) Summary An Instructor or Faculty member cultivates the school's mission and objectives through student instruction, guidance, and review in order to ensure the successful academic program and personal development of each student. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Program/Course Responsible for comprehensive course instruction within specified program Provide Program Director/Director of Education with active input in course development (course descriptions, syllabus creation, textbook material, equipment review) Create and revise daily lessons Maintain professional growth by attending in-service training and continuing education seminars; attend faculty meetings Keep accurate records of student attendance and academics Correct and return quizzes, tests, lab assignments within 48 hours after submission Utilize instructional and audiovisual aids; all available resources online Demonstrate utilization of community resources through arranging guest speakers, field trips, and community service events Report damaged/broken equipment immediately to Program Director/Director of Education Turn in grades within 48 hours of term end Student Development Create a classroom environment that fosters academic growth and guides professional development Keep DOE apprised of student progress (attendance, academic trends, performance warnings) Provide extra help to students mastering coursework Advise students with minor problems; refer major problems to Program Director/Director of Education Perform other duties as required by Program Director/Director of Education Compliance Demonstrate knowledge and follow all applicable federal and state compliance requirements, including those prescribed by the U.S. Department of Education, accrediting agencies, state regulations, and internal policies Communicate compliance requirements to staff; promptly report concerns to Compliance department Required Skills/Education/Experience High school diploma/GED required 3 years of verifiable experience in residential, commercial, or industrial electrical work, alarm systems, control systems, or combination of these areas Prior teaching experience preferred Work Environment / Physical Demands This is an on-campus position with occasional remote work Home office set up, quiet place, ability to hardwire into high-speed internet connection may be required May require setup of computer equipment; accommodations available upon request Compensation Salary based on experience and qualifications.
