About the Position

Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: Clinical Professional Specialty: Physical Therapist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: M-F Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (with potential rotating weekends) Experience: Zero (0) to six (6) months of related experience License: Valid State Licensure or Temporary Letter of Authorization to practice Physical Therapy Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Graduation from an accredited school of Physical Therapy - Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from patients and families - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations - Ability to use computers for data input and reporting - Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills - Effective reasoning ability and adaptability Description: Provides clinical patient care by initiating and administering appropriate treatment. Progresses patient treatment as appropriate and manages a patient load that reflects productivity standards. Evaluates patients accurately. Plans appropriate treatment. Sets and meets functional goals. Revises and progresses treatment program as goals are met. Maintains appropriate treatment records and completes accurate daily patient charges. Completes patient records in a timely manner. Accurately reflects in patient charges the time spent, procedures performed, and equipment used. Maintains technical expertise through attendance and participation in continuing education activities and departmental in-services. Attends scheduled in-services and departmental meetings with patients and families. Provides instruction to patients and/or family members, as well as other healthcare providers. Follows care path guidelines for patient/family education and documentation of home programs. Follows set guidelines for daily operations and assists therapists with daily responsibilities as appropriate. Schedules and prioritizes daily work assignments. Delegates, as appropriate, patients to support personnel. Assists with observations, volunteers, and students as requested by the therapist. Assists with training of new employees. Carries out non-routine procedures under constantly changing conditions, in conformance with general instructions from the supervisor. Coordinates activities of others without supervising. Leads others in the same work performed without supervising. Has input on performance evaluations but does not prepare or conduct them. Works directly with patients and/or customers. Interacts with internal customers via telephone or face-to-face. Interacts with external customers via telephone or face-to-face. Collaborates with other healthcare professionals and staff.
