Tasks include inspecting incoming goods, receiving, processing and storing stock, pulling orders, delivering goods, conducting inventory counts, and maintaining a safe and secure environment. The role requires the use of multiple computer software systems, handheld devices for inventory control, and warehouse lifting equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and drive trucks with lift gates. The Specialist must also actively participate in Continuity of Operations (COOP) activations. Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm. Essential Job Functions (EJFs) Attend work regularly and perform other duties as assigned. Review system-generated picking tickets, verify items to labels, pick, verify, and make notations, load carts, and stage them for outgoing warehouse location (30%). Load and unload warehouse stock using lifting equipment, put away stock into racking and shelving, and deliver items using a state vehicle in a timely manner (20%). Unload vendor freight trucks, verify shipments with purchase orders, use dock equipment, inspect, count, and document compliance or damage according to SharePoint Receiving policies (20%). Enter data into the MIMS automated inventory control program for tracking purposes; assist with inventories, reconcile variances, and maintain inventory records (15%). Enter data into the CAPPS Financial system to provide accurate and timely receiving of warehouse stock and nonstock items (10%). Participate in COOP plan and other duties as assigned (5%). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Knowledge of general warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, issuing, customer service, and inventory control. Ability to use mechanical lifting devices in warehouse operations to move, transfer, and deliver goods. Ability to review warehouse rules, regulations, and policies for compliance and follow departmental instructions for inventory control guidelines. Ability to use a handheld device for managing warehouse stock and receiving goods. Skill in operating a computer using inventory control and receiving software. Skill in communicating effectively verbally and in writing. Registrations, Licensure Requirements or Certifications Valid Class C Driver’s License (Texas Driver’s License preferred); license must be checked yearly for violations or suspensions. Forklift Driver Training – SAF0100, completion required within three (3) months of employment. Initial Screening Criteria Graduation from an accredited high school or GED. Work experience using a computer with inventory control and receiving software or similar systems. Work experience in a warehouse/inventory control related field (preferred). Prior experience with forklift and other material handling equipment (preferred).
