Job Overview Under general supervision, this position registers and withdraws students to and from Elementary Schools, handles grade changes, and maintains accurate records for bi‑annual government funding (FTE) reports. Essential Functions Respond to internal and external customers in a timely, accurate, courteous and empathetic manner, representing OCPS in a positive light. Prepare registration packets, meet with parents, and register kindergarten and new students for Elementary School. Process paperwork for student transfers from Elementary to Middle School within and outside the school district. Meet with parents and students to prepare paperwork to withdraw students from school. Input and update student information into the computer to compile student records and current immunization records. Prepare and maintain an up‑to‑date cumulative folder for every student in the Elementary School. Monitor and track attendance record sheets to determine if a pattern of truancy exists and notify the school Social Worker of problems. Prepare FTE (government) reports accounting for every student and their schedule, closely monitor ESOL and ESE student schedules, distribute printouts to teachers and administrators to keep computer files accurate for FTE. Maintain a filing system for attendance records and general school files. Answer the telephone, take messages, provide information and assistance to district personnel and the public, and relay calls to appropriate personnel. Maintain a professional atmosphere in the main office, greet and assist staff, students, and visitors, and answer questions. Operate a computer to enter, retrieve, review, or modify data; utilize word processing, database, and software programs. Operate a variety of machinery, equipment, and tools associated with department activities, which may include a typewriter, postage machine, or fax. Stay current on technology used by OCPS, attend training as required, and maintain skill level. Ensure timely and accurate information is maintained as part of job responsibilities. Marginal Functions Front desk coverage. Minimum Training and Experience High school diploma or GED; supplemented by two (2) years of previous experience and/or training involving clerical or secretarial work, or any equivalent combination of related education, training and experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
