Estimator Position

We've been engaged to help our client to identify an estimator who is responsible for developing cost estimates on routine small projects under direct supervision for construction as required by clients' documents.

Essential Functions:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

1. Reviews construction documents and understands scope of work to bid.

2. Executes take-offs of construction documents.

3. Inputs take-offs into a computer spreadsheet.

4. Obtains pricing for materials.

5. Obtains bids from subcontractors.

6. Prepares cost analysis in computer by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items.

7. Where predetermined standard(s) are not available, makes an estimate.

8. Informs the immediate supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer database.

9. Develops and maintains resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.

10. Attends departmental meetings as required.

11. Photocopies documents and plans.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.

Required Education, Experience, Certification and Licenses:

1. High School Diploma or GED; or 1-2 months of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

2. Microsoft Office experience

3. Nuclear experience (preferred)
