JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for promoting and restoring patient health by developing day‑to‑day management and long‑term planning of patient care, directing and developing staff, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staffs, and providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families. Principal Accountabilities Identify patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and others who can help understand service needs. Maintain nursing operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures. Assure quality of care by developing and interpreting hospital and nursing division philosophies and standards of care. Maintain and manage nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training nurses and auxiliary staff. Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families and promoting patient independence by setting patient‑care goals and providing information to patients and the health‑care team. Protect patients and employees by developing and interpreting infection‑control policies and protocols, enforcing medication administration, storage procedures, and controlled‑substance regulations. Maintain documentation of patient care services by auditing patient and department records and maintaining patient confidence by monitoring confidential information processing. Achieve financial objectives and ensure emergency equipment availability, nursing supplies, and completion of preventive maintenance requirements. Maintain professional and technical knowledge and foster a cooperative relationship among health‑care teams. Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required: BSN required. BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification. 2‑5 years of experience in nursing or a relevant area, including experience in Basic Dysrhythmia. HRO training. Previous leadership/charge nurse experience required. Preferred: MSN preferred. CEN preferred.
