Labor and Delivery RN

Job Summary The Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care for patients at 32 weeks gestation and beyond. This role involves triaging patients, assisting with cesarean sections, managing labor and delivery collaboratively with physicians and midwives, and overseeing patient recovery after vaginal and cesarean deliveries. The nurse ensures high-quality care through skilled assessment, intervention, and communication within a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities Triage patients presenting to the Labor & Delivery unit. Circulate and assist during cesarean section procedures. Manage labor and delivery processes in collaboration with physicians and midwives. Provide post-delivery care and monitor patient recovery following vaginal and cesarean births. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation. Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes. Ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety standards. Required Skills & Certifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification. Minimum of 4 years nursing experience, preferably in Labor & Delivery. Strong clinical assessment and patient management skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Preferred Skills & Certifications Five or more years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience. Previous travel nursing experience. Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system. Special Considerations Work in a Level 2 Labor and Delivery unit caring for patients 32 weeks gestation and above. Collaborative work with physicians and midwives required. Must be able to function effectively in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment. Every other weekend and holiday shifts are required. Scheduling Day shift: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, weekdays.
