Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical-Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 Year in Specialty License: Current RN License in State of Employment or Compact Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: Experience in a related nursing specialty, preferred Description: The competent nurse practices independently in a clinical setting. Demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care with the ability to plan for long-range goals. Continuously develops the ability to cope with and manage clinical contingencies. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation. Meets expectations of applicable competencies. Utilizes the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families according to their level of practice. Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocols. Monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers. Identifies issues and resources relevant to patient care.
