Job Description

This role supports production and fabrication operations by performing a variety of hands-on tasks, including loading and unloading steel onto machines, assisting with parts retrieval, and maintaining a clean and safe shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in loading and unloading steel onto production and fabrication machines in a safe and efficient manner.
• Support general production activities as directed, including moving materials and staging parts for fabrication.
• Retrieve parts and materials from designated areas as needed to keep production flowing smoothly.
• Perform heavy lifting and manual handling of steel and related materials while following safety guidelines.
• Help maintain a clean and organized shop by sweeping floors and brushing off steel parts during downtime.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and work collaboratively with the production team to meet daily goals.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and use appropriate equipment when working around steel and machinery.
• Work effectively in a loud, industrial environment and remain open to exposure to elements as required by the facility setup.

Essential Skills

• Experience in general labor or production environments.
• Ability to safely perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks.
• Comfort working in a loud industrial setting and being open to elements.
• Willingness to assist with cleaning tasks such as sweeping floors and brushing off steel parts.
• Ability to follow directions and support multiple tasks in a production and fabrication setting.
• Reliability and punctuality to work a consistent Monday–Friday schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Steel laborer experience is a plus.
• Previous experience in a production or fabrication shop environment is beneficial.
• Familiarity with working around steel, machinery, or industrial equipment is an advantage.

Work Environment

This position is based in a production and fabrication shop that handles steel materials. The environment is loud and industrial, and you must be comfortable working around machinery and open to exposure to elements as needed. The shift runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., offering a regular daytime schedule. Work involves heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and performing physical tasks such as sweeping floors and brushing off steel parts to maintain a clean and organized facility. Appropriate work attire suitable for an industrial shop environment is expected.

This is a Permanent position based out of Syracuse, NY.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
