About the Role We are seeking an Advertising Sales Representative to manage an established Fredericksburg territory and develop new business. You will sell advertising across a diverse portfolio that includes: Fredericksburg Standard-Radio Post Local digital advertising on FredericksburgStandard.com Bespoke Digital Solutions including email marketing, programmatic advertising, retargeting and more Rock & Vine Quarterly Lifestyle Magazine Fredericksburg City Guide - Our Bi-Annual Visitors Guide This portfolio provides multiple ways to help local, regional and tourism-focused businesses connect with residents, visitors and targeted digital audiences. You will manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and discovery through proposal development and closing. Success requires consistent outreach, thoughtful follow-up, strong relationship-building skills and the confidence to ask for the business. What You’ll Do Manage and grow an established portfolio of advertising clients Prospect and close new business throughout the Fredericksburg market Reconnect with former advertisers and identify win-back opportunities Meet with business owners and other decision-makers Learn each advertiser’s goals, challenges and target audience Recommend customized print and digital advertising campaigns Identify cross-platform opportunities that increase advertiser reach Present proposals, handle objections and close business Maintain an accurate sales pipeline using our CRM Collaborate with our creative, production and digital support teams Meet or exceed individual revenue and activity goals What We’re Looking For At least two years of advertising sales experience A demonstrated record of prospecting and closing business Print and digital media sales experience strongly preferred Lead-generation experience preferred Strong communication and relationship-building skills Ability to build rapport quickly with decision-makers Comfort with outbound prospecting and new-business development Organized, accountable and disciplined approach to sales Motivation to build a strong book of business and grow your income What We Offer $55,000 base salary plus uncapped commission First-year on-target earnings of $70,000+ An established client list with meaningful growth potential Multiple revenue opportunities across newspapers, magazines, visitor publications and digital advertising Company-sponsored medical, dental and vision insurance plans Life insurance Paid vacation and holidays 401(k) Direct coaching and ongoing sales training In-house creative, production and digital support A culture that recognizes and rewards performance Who We Are Texas Local Media, part of Times Media Group, is a multimedia company serving communities across Arizona, Colorado, Texas and Southern California.
