Position Overview
The Staff Development Coordinator for Registered Nurses is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and overseeing all in-service education programs, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational standards.
Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements- Completion of a nursing diploma (either an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in nursing)
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the applicable state, with an obligation to maintain an active and good standing license throughout employment
- Preferred: At least one year of experience in skilled nursing
- Preferred: Experience in teaching or education
- CPR certification required upon hire or to be obtained during orientation; certification must remain valid throughout employment
- A strong desire and capability to effectively train and educate nursing staff and other relevant associates
- In-depth knowledge in the nursing field
- Ability to make independent decisions when necessary
- Familiarity with practices, procedures, and the laws and regulations governing operations in a post-acute care setting
- Ability to implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
- Proficiency in all competency areas, including but not limited to patient rights, safety, and sanitation
- Maintain professional relationships with all associates, vendors, and stakeholders
- Ensure confidentiality of all proprietary and sensitive information
- Understand and adhere to organizational policies, including those related to harassment and compliance
- Exhibit integrity and professionalism by following the organization’s Code of Conduct and completing all required compliance training
- Plan, develop, direct, conduct, evaluate, and coordinate staff training, education, in-service programs, and orientation
- Maintain accurate records of associate training and in-service participation
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients
- Assist in the safe evacuation of patients when necessary
- Demonstrate reliable and regular attendance
- Utilize reasoning skills and sound judgment in various situations
- Communicate effectively and collaborate productively within an interdisciplinary team
- Engage in physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving intermittently during work hours
- Read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language
