Job Description
The Fabric Laborer accurately measures, cuts, and assembles canvas and fabric materials according to order specifications. This role operates fabric fusing equipment, prepares finished products for installation, and performs physically demanding tasks in a production environment.
Responsibilities

• Pull canvas and other fabric materials from large rolls according to work orders and production requirements.
• Measure fabric accurately using a tape measure to ensure all cuts meet specified dimensions.
• Cut and prepare canvas and fabric pieces based on order details and quality standards.
• Operate a fabric fusing machine to seal and join different colors and pieces of material.
• Inspect seams and fused sections to confirm proper bonding and overall quality.
• Fold, package, and prepare completed fabric products for shipment and field installation.
• Perform general labor and assembly tasks as needed within the production and warehouse area.
• Use basic hand tools and mechanical equipment safely and effectively during assembly and machine operation.
• Lift, move, and position materials weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the day.
• Work on hands and knees, and perform frequent bending and stooping to handle fabric on production surfaces.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Collaborate with a small team of coworkers to meet daily production goals and deadlines.

Essential Skills

• Ability to work comfortably in a physically demanding environment, including frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, bending, stooping, and working on hands and knees.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately on a daily basis.
• Experience with general labor or hands-on work in environments such as manufacturing, production, construction, warehouse, or assembly.
• Comfort using basic hand tools and mechanical equipment.
• Reliability in attendance and ability to work scheduled hours from Monday through Thursday, with additional hours on Friday when needed.
• Attention to detail to ensure accurate measurements, cuts, and quality of finished products.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety guidelines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in manufacturing, construction, production, warehouse, or mechanical assembly is helpful but not required.
• Familiarity with machine operating in a production or assembly setting is a plus.
• Experience in general labor roles that involve heavy lifting and physical work is beneficial.
• Comfort working in a small team environment with a focus on collaboration and productivity.

Work Environment
Work takes place in a dedicated fabric building with a small team of approximately four employees, creating a focused and collaborative atmosphere. The production area is located inside one of the structures manufactured on-site, providing a controlled environment that stays fairly cool during summer and is heated during winter. The role involves regular use of a tape measure, hand tools, and fabric fusing machinery in a manufacturing and assembly setting. The dress code is casual and practical, typically jeans, a T-shirt, and tennis shoes, with many employees choosing to wear knee pads due to time spent on hands and knees. Standard hours are Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with additional work on Fridays as needed based on production demands.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kimball, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
