Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment. Marvin Test Solutions designs and manufactures armament Test Equipment. Marvin Land Systems specializes in the design and build of power and thermal management systems. Our collaboration extends across a diverse array of programs and platforms, including major military prime contractors such as Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon.POSITION SUMMARY: This is a hands-on position responsible for installing, configuring, monitoring, and maintaining network infrastructure with a strong emphasis on LAN switching technologies. The role will involve working closely with senior network administrators to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability of the company's network environment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Install and configure network switches (Aruba, HP, Cisco)Monitor and maintain network switch performanceAssist with switch configuration and upgradesManage IDF installations and cable organizationTroubleshoot technical issues with escalated ticketsConfigure and maintain network protocols (VLAN, STP, LACP)Firewall support and basic routing configurationDocument network configurations and topologyCollaborate on network security complianceSKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS: 3+ years of hands-on experience in network administration or a similar role. Strong expertise in LAN/WAN infrastructure, including switch installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. Proficiency with Aruba, HP, and Cisco switches, including CLI-based configuration (VLAN, STP, LACP, trunk/access ports, port security, etc.). Ability to perform switch provisioning, firmware upgrades, and advanced configuration tasks via command line interfaces (SSH/console). Experience working with fiber cabling, including terminating, connecting, and troubleshooting fiber links between switches and patch panels (LC/SC connectors, SFP/SFP+ modules). Experience with network firewalls and basic routing concepts. Familiarity with network monitoring tools and performance optimization techniques. Knowledge of IDF installation, structured cabling standards, labeling, and cable?management best practices. Understanding of network security principles, including 802.1X, NAC, and access control policies. Ability to work with SSO technologies (Okta) and multi-factor authentication (2FA) solutions. Strong documentation skills for network topology, patching, fiber mapping, and switch configurations. Resourceful, with strong problem?solving abilities and the capability to work independently and collaboratively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bachelor's degree in a related field OR 5+ years of relevant network administration experience. Professional certifications such as Cisco, Aruba Certified Switching Associate, or equivalent are highly preferred.WORK ENVIRONMENT: Sitting at a desk for long periods of time using computers, printers, phones, and other office equipment. Being on call to ensure that the network and computer systems are always functioning properly. Ability to work evenings and weekends. Remote work may be required.
