Take on a rewarding position supporting students as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) Specialist and Teacher. This contract opportunity offers flexibility, with both part-time and full-time schedules considered. Key Qualifications:
- Certified or credentialed to teach students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Experience working within K-12 educational environments is preferred
- Proficiency in using American Sign Language (ASL) and augmentative communication tools
- Ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with staff, parents, and students
- Commitment to creating inclusive, accessible classroom environments
Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Adapting curriculum, classroom materials, and assessments to ensure accessibility
- Participating in IEP meetings, goal setting, and progress monitoring
- Consulting with general education teachers and staff to promote accessibility and successful integration
- Providing advocacy and guidance to empower students academically and socially
- Fostering an encouraging, communicative atmosphere within the school community
