Quality Inspector II

We are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector II to support inspection and testing activities for critical mechanical, electrical, and structural components used in Naval reactor plants and associated systems. This role is responsible for performing inspections, nondestructive testing (NDT), dimensional verification, and quality assessments to ensure compliance with company, industry, and nuclear quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing environments, be proficient in dimensional inspection techniques, and possess hands-on experience using precision measuring equipment. This position requires the ability to make quality acceptance/rejection decisions and has the authority to temporarily halt work that could impact reactor plant safety.

Key responsibilities include:

• Perform inspections on mechanical, electrical, and structural components to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Conduct nondestructive testing (NDT), including ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT), liquid penetrant testing (PT), visual inspection, dimensional inspection, and load testing.
• Perform close-tolerance dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments.
• Review products and assemblies for conformance during manufacturing, assembly, overhaul, refueling, and repair activities.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
• Determine acceptance or rejection of inspected products based on quality requirements.
• Select appropriate measuring and inspection equipment for verification activities.
• Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and nuclear industry quality standards.
• Exercise stop-work authority when quality or safety concerns could affect reactor plant operations.
