REPORTS TO A COMBINATION OF THE FOLLOWING: PRINCIPAL AND THE SPECIAL EDUCATION DIRECTOR Qualifications Must have a Master\'s Degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology Valid Georgia Certificate in Speech Language Pathology (P-12) required Certificate of Clinical Competence from American Speech-Language and Hearing Association or ability to obtain one preferred but not required. Job Responsibilities Assess, diagnose, and help treat speech, language, cognitive, communication, voice, swallowing/feeding, fluency, alternative/augmentative communication (AAC) and other related disorders. Assist and guide teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected and identified speech and language impairments Duties include, but are not limited to, working with educators, parents, and students to improve delayed speech or other communication problems through preschool screenings, student assessments, and direct therapy services. Work with students from preschool through high school to provide consult services, direct speech therapy services, and/or collaborative services (Locations can include but are not limited to: community-based daycare centers, elementary/middle/high school resources therapy rooms, elementary/middle/high school community-based instruction classrooms, private residence for medically fragile/homebound students). Willingness to travel from service location to service location Serve as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for oral communication and speech improvement Provide a therapeutic program to meet individual needs of communication-impaired students. Serve as a member of a multi-disciplinary assessment and treatment team to include working with other special education teachers, occupational therapist, physical therapist, vision specialist, audiologist, and MTSS/RTI process. Provide information and support to parents and families when appropriate Keep through, ongoing records and data collection for the individual student receiving therapy or other school provided speech services Responsible for documentation for Medicaid billing for all eligible students Attend in-service programs as required Perform other duties as necessary for the effectiveness of the school district and the safety of students. #J-18808-Ljbffr Madison County School DistrictVacancy posted 2 days ago
