The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at our organization, in partnership with a prominent medical group, is seeking an academic pediatric pathologist to cater to the pediatric population in Indiana.

The successful candidate will become part of a growing team of skilled pediatric pathologists located at a leading children's hospital in Indianapolis. The Central Pathology Laboratory, situated less than a mile from the hospital, boasts a large faculty of specialized academic pathologists, facilitating collaborative opportunities. This role offers the unique option to engage in adult pathology services for those interested in practicing pediatric pathology in a dedicated children's facility while also leveraging other subspecialty skills. Furthermore, the newly established Maternity Tower at the hospital presents avenues for development in perinatal and placental pathology. This position is available on a clinical track, with academic rank based on qualifications and experience.

• Provide expert diagnostic services in anatomic pathology.
• Deliver diagnostic services for pediatric autopsies and perinatal pathology.
• Offer on-call support and participate in departmental conferences.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary clinical care team.
• Educate medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Support the needs of expanding pediatric divisions, including a notable pediatric GI service.
• Assist the pediatric oncology service with emerging Precision Genomics initiatives.

• The children's hospital is a nationally recognized, freestanding facility with 354 beds, including a maternity tower and a 112-bed NICU.
• It features a growing pediatric cancer program with over 250 new cases each year, an active gastroenterology/hepatology department, and a multivisceral organ transplant service, along with an expanding research presence across various clinical specialties.
• The pediatric pathology service handles approximately 5,000 surgical specimens, 1,500 placental/perinatal specimens, and 50 autopsies annually, with ongoing regional growth.
• A dedicated pediatric pathologists’ assistant is part of the pediatric pathology team.
• The Central Pathology Laboratory offers state-of-the-art facilities and serves as the primary AP & CP testing center for numerous hospitals and clinics, conducting 15 million diagnostic tests each year.

• Certification in anatomic pathology or both anatomic and clinical pathology is required.
• Board certified/eligible in Pediatric Pathology.
