Caf X Robotic Coffee Bar Operator

Based in San Francisco, Cafe X designs, builds, and operates Robotic Coffee Bars that serve specialty coffee, tea, food, and more. Our goal is to combine the quality of a traditional high-end coffee shop with the convenience and sanitary benefits of a vending machine, while creating a unique user experience with great design and a quirky dancing robot arm. Working on our small team at Caf X offers hands-on exposure to a wide range of fields, including engineering, manufacturing, construction, technical and customer support, product development, design, and culinary aspects like recipe development, testing, and crafting drinks, syrups, and cold brews.

The primary focus of this position is to participate in daily operations of our Robotic Coffee Bars at SFO International Airport and the Bay Area. Daily operations involve packing and delivery of supplies, restocking, cleaning, and testing our automated coffee robots.

Cafe X takes pride in unreasonably well-maintained and immaculate cleanliness of our Robotic Coffee Bars. This role will only be a good fit if the candidate genuinely enjoys cleaning (e.g. car detailing, organizing your home, restoring valuable items, deep cleaning, etc.)

Main responsibilities:

• Cleaning and restocking coffee bars
• Preparing and moving supplies between warehouse and coffee bar sites
• Washing and sanitizing coffee equipment
• Packaging pastries
• Preparing kegs of cold brew, lemonades, etc
• Troubleshooting coffee bar issues
• Maintaining the Operations team work area
• Reporting feedback from clients/customers

Additional responsibilities:

• Cleaning and organizing workshop areas
• Assisting with new machines builds
• Minor repairs on coffee machines
• Additional tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in operations management is a plus
• Regular weekend availability
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
• A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong analytical skills
• Pass background checks and security training modules per client site
• Work with tools and mobile apps to maintain and troubleshoot coffee bars
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Valid CA Driver's License -- clean driving record
• Previous experience in a food service or operations role is preferred but not required.

Pay: $22.50 - $24.00 per hour
