Learn more at Job Details: The CMMS Maintenance Planner is essential to the calibration department, responsible for managing, creating, and updating calibration planning strategies to optimize the effective and efficient use of maintenance schedules. This role includes developing standards and procedures for calibration assets, performing improvement analyses, reviewing maintenance planning strategies, monitoring performance data, and prioritizing the department's daily maintenance tasks under the supervision of the Calibration Supervisor. Collaboration with maintenance team leaders, operations team leaders, operations planners, and the quality team is crucial to ensure that objectives are achieved promptly. Moreover, the Calibration Coordinator provides clerical support for the calibration cycle process, which involves generating, distributing, following up on, and filing calibration work orders within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). The CMMS is dedicated to ensuring the execution of safe, high-quality work through the development of clear Work Orders and continuous improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recognize the importance of Preventative (PMCAL), (CMCAL), and (EMCAL) tasks, close them promptly, and drive improvements to the Calibration system.
- Forecast work schedules a minimum of two months in advance that align with the operations schedule.
- Maintain information and documentation in the CMMS database to ensure compliance with calibration policies and procedures.
- Propose improvements to existing standard operating procedures for calibration methods and systems.
- Ensure that calibration records are updated and stored in a manner that allows for easy retrieval.
- Review calibration certificates for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Ensure that all calibration results are accurately detailed and filed in the system.
- Identify discrepancies or issues in CMMS Forms, work orders, and calibration reports, and connect with relevant parties for resolution.
- Conduct data entry and retrieval, work order corrections, and asset modifications at an administrator level within Maximo.
- Demonstrate specific improvements in tracked metrics such as work order schedule adherence, planned versus unplanned maintenance, and the percentage of work orders assembled by available hours.
- Accurately complete records as outlined in job procedures (e.g., manual and/or electronic documentation).
- Assist engineers and instrument owners with New Equipment Introduction concerning equipment setup in the Calibration Program.
- Support the review and closure of work orders within the Calibration Program.
- Perform additional work-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- High School diploma or equivalent experience.
- Accredited Instrument Technician Certification preferred
- Vocational, Certificate, Technical or Associate's (or equivalent) is preferred
- A minimum of 4-6 years of proven experience in Instrumentation, Maintenance or Electronics, preferably in the medical device industry or an FDA regulated industry is required
- Successful collaboration and cross functional team experience in a matrix organization supporting Operations, Engineering, and/or Maintenance personnel is preferred
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required
- Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities are required
- Proven ability to work cross functionally, with customer driven focus and sense of urgency is required
- SAP or Maximo experience
- Successful collaboration and cross functional team experience in a matrix organization supporting Operations, Engineering, and/or Maintenance personnel is preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 10% between Cornelia and Athens sites required.
