Instructional Designer Location : Percheron Corporate or Regional Office - Katy, TX Date Posted : Sep 8, 2026 Requisition Number : 2596 Description Percheron is building its Learning and Development function, and we are seeking an Instructional Designer to join the team. You will start with a blank canvas: the template library, and course catalog are yours to design and build, setting the standard for how learning is constructed at Percheron. You will own the end-to-end design of virtual, in-person, and hybrid learning — standing up the tools and LMS structure and creating modern, learner-centric programs along the way. Combining design craft, learning science, and current technology (including AI-enabled tools and workflows), you will partner with subject matter experts and leaders at all levels to close performance and knowledge gaps and drive measurable outcomes across the organization. Essential Tasks and Responsibilities Program Design and Development Ability to select the most effective instructional approach including a blend of instructor-led and self-directed techniques including social, peer, work-based, informal, game-based, virtual, or performance-based learning. Ability to create in person-based training including presentation materials, individual and group activities, job aids, and hands-on exercises. Ability to develop course content including games, interactive e-learning, or other technology-driven programs. Assessment and Evaluation Ability to partner with leaders and associates as a performance consultant — identifying performance and knowledge gaps, conducting needs assessments, and translating findings into learning solutions where no baseline data or prior analysis exists. Ability to establish the evaluation framework itself — selecting methodologies, defining success measures, and reporting measurable outcomes of deployed learning programs to business stakeholders. Communication Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization on both technical and nontechnical topics. Ability to compile, organize, and present complex information clearly and concisely. Collaboration Works effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important. Project Management Ability to manage day-to-day activities of multiple assigned projects, communicate status updates, and proactively identify changes in scope of work to ensure that appropriate planning measures are taken to assess impacts of scope change. Implementation Support and Customer Service Supports internal teams and partner training teams with do-it-yourself templates, instructional guides, and standards. Provides support to internal customers of learning programs. Consulting Consults with Learning and Development Lead to develop learning solutions that meet business objectives. Clear understanding of business needs and sensitivity to differences across various groups. Other duties as assigned or required. Job Requirements Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, BS or BA degree or higher in instructional design, computer science, education, graphic design, or interaction design, or equivalent practical experience. 3-5 years of experience designing and developing learning programs, blending online and in-person content for adult audiences. Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills Experience leveraging AI tools to personalize, automate, and optimize learning solutions. Proficiency in eLearning tools such as Canva, Adobe Captivate, Articulate 360, Camtasia, Synthesia or similar video tools. Ability to use learning management systems (LMS) such as Paycom Learning. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Technologies, or a related field Project management experience (2+ years) Experience in professional services, energy, utilities, or related industries. Knowledge Extensive knowledge of instructional design methodologies and adult learning concepts. Apply adult learning theory and principles to the design, development, and maintenance of performance-based instructional materials for a variety of delivery methods, including instructor-led training (in-person and virtual), e-learning, self-study, and blended learning. Ability to work autonomously and to collaborate fully as a team player. Ability to pay close attention to details, and present good planning, organization, and time management skills. Ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily. Ability to maintain regular attendance as per work schedule agreed with manager (may require working an adjusted work schedule based on project assigned and work overtime if warranted). Ability to comply with applicable laws and regulations and Company policies and procedures. Work Environment and Physical Demands Spends 100% of the time in an office environment.
