About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 or 26 weeks contract option Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a large, urban hospital License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS required; ACLS and Chemo certification preferred Must-Have: - 2 years of prior experience in a medical-surgical setting required - Experience with EPIC charting system needed - Required to float within scope to meet facility needs Description: This position is for a registered nurse specializing in medical-surgical and telemetry care. The unit serves a mixed acuity of adult oncology patients undergoing complex treatment courses. RNs must be prepared to float frequently to meet staffing needs across various units. Nurses will care for up to five patients with a typical ratio of 1:4 during days and 1:5 during nights. This is a nicotine-free facility. Weekend work is required, with expectation of 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period. Travelers are expected to work 2 out of 3 major holidays. RNs will be responsible for managing drips and complex medication administration. Experience in a Level 1 trauma facility is preferred. All travelers should have experience in working with comprehensive patient care teams. Candidates must demonstrate competencies in various nursing skills, including chemotherapy administration and patient education. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as floating may occur with short notice. Travelers will adhere to strict facility policies and procedures, including safety protocols. Candidates should not have more than 1 year between permanent and travel positions. This role requires commitment to providing high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.
