Salary Information

Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.

**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations**

Nature of Work

Thefundamental reason this classification exist is to maintain order in theMunicipal Court to include restraining or arresting disruptive individuals asrequired. Employees in this positionalso perform specialized clerical duties of a legal nature including themaintenance of inmate and court records and data entry work. The primary workresponsibilities of this class are: supervises employees; places courtroom inproper order for court sessions; maintains order in the courtroom; performsclerical and administrative duties; and monitors the flow of City Jail is performed under the supervision of the Municipal Court Administrator.

Minimum Qualifications

High SchoolDiploma or G.E.D and five (5) years of law enforcement experience includingtwo (2) years supervisory experience. A bachelors degree in criminal justiceor a closely related field may substitute for required experience on ayear-for-year basis. Must have and maintain current certification as a LawEnforcement Officer in the State of Alabama and meet all minimumrequirements established by the Alabama Peace Officers Standards and TrainingCommission.

NOTE: Qualifyingeducation training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge skillsand abilities to perform the job will be considered.

Special Requirements

Mustbe willing to work long hours some days averaging 12-14 hours per day.

Kind of Examination

Applicants will be screened and qualified based upon education and experience as shown on the application and supplemental questionnaire.
