Senior Principal Engineer, Plastics Molding — Pharmaceutical Manufacturing & Medical Devices

Senior Principal Engineer role providing technical leadership for plastic injection and blow molding technologies in pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing. Leads complex engineering projects across the product and process life cycle, partnering with internal teams and external suppliers to develop compliant, scalable molding solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead medium to large molding engineering projects from concept through validation and sustained support
- Develop injection and blow molding solutions meeting product, quality, cost, and regulatory requirements
- Plan and execute FMEAs, DOE, dimensional analysis, SPC, FAT, and qualification/validation activities
- Provide technical direction on equipment, tooling, automation, resin selection, and manufacturing readiness
- Support supplier selection, performance management, and technical issue resolution for molding services
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or related field
- 8–10 years engineering and/or operational experience in regulated industries
- 3+ years plastic injection or blow molding design and process-support experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of molding equipment, plastics processes, resins, and regulatory/ISO requirements
- Experience with FMEA, DOE, dimensional analysis, FAT, validation, design controls, and metrology
- Proficiency with CAD platforms (SolidWorks, Creo/ProE, AutoCAD) and CNC/EDM equipment
