Location: Traveling / Project-Based
Schedule/Shift: Monday-Saturday, typically 7:00 a.m. start; approximately 50-60 hours per week
Pay: $30-$35 per hour

Job Summary

The Bilingual Traveling Structured Cabling Foreman is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and quality assurance of large-scale structured cabling, fiber optic, and data center infrastructure projects. This role supervises multiple field crews, coordinates labor and materials, monitors schedules and productivity, and ensures work is completed safely and according to project specifications and quality standards. The Foreman serves as a primary onsite point of contact and provides technical leadership, mentoring, and troubleshooting support to Crew Leads and technicians. Fluency in both English and Spanish is required to effectively communicate with field crews and project stakeholders, along with extensive travel and the ability to remain onsite for extended project assignments.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise multiple structured cabling crews performing voice, data, fiber optic, and infrastructure installations.

• Manage crews of 10 or more technicians, assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and ensure productivity expectations are met.

• Communicate effectively in both English and Spanish with technicians, Crew Leads, project management, and other project stakeholders.

• Oversee project execution to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within project scope.

• Coordinate workforce scheduling, materials, equipment, and project activities to meet established deadlines.

• Serve as a primary onsite contact for project stakeholders, facility teams, construction teams, and Project Managers.

• Attend project, facility, construction, and coordination meetings as required.

• Conduct site walk-throughs, weekly safety meetings, and jobsite inspections while enforcing applicable safety requirements.

• Provide technical direction for the installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting of structured cabling, fiber optic, copper, voice, and data systems.

• Oversee fusion and ribbon fiber splicing, OTDR and Fluke testing, cross-connects, cut sheets, moves, additions, and related infrastructure work.

• Lead the installation of server racks, ladder trays, fiber tray systems, power trays, cabling infrastructure, and network equipment.

• Ensure cable management, dressing, labeling, termination, testing, and documentation meet project and quality standards.

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, project documentation, and specifications to identify installation requirements, conflicts, and design changes.

• Produce and maintain red-lined as-built drawings and accurate project records.

• Perform quality control inspections and verify completed work complies with project scope and installation standards.

• Coordinate with Project Managers regarding productivity goals, schedules, labor forecasts, material requirements, project changes, and budget expectations.

• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including timesheets, work orders, material transfers, change orders, tool transfers, and other required records.

• Monitor jobsite inventory, receive and organize materials, and coordinate material availability to support field operations.

• Provide leadership, mentoring, technical training, and performance oversight to Crew Leads and technicians.

• Troubleshoot complex structured cabling, fiber optic, and infrastructure installation issues and coordinate appropriate resolutions.

• Escalate project, personnel, safety, or performance concerns to project management as necessary.

• Support additional project and operational responsibilities as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of structured cabling, fiber optic, data center, or related infrastructure installation experience.

• Minimum 2 years of experience leading or supervising field crews in a Foreman, Superintendent, Project Lead, or comparable leadership role.

• Demonstrated experience managing multiple crews and coordinating work on large-scale structured cabling or data center projects.

• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish required, with the ability to effectively communicate technical instructions, safety requirements, and project expectations in both languages.

• High school diploma or GED required.

• OSHA 30 certification required.

• Advanced knowledge of structured cabling, voice and data systems, fiber optic infrastructure, and copper cabling.

• Experience with fusion and ribbon fiber splicing, cable testing, OTDR testing, Fluke testing, and technical troubleshooting.

• Strong knowledge of infrastructure installation, quality assurance, cross-connects, cut sheets, cable management, and as-built documentation.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, project specifications, and construction documentation.

• Demonstrated ability to manage project schedules, workforce requirements, productivity expectations, and field documentation.

• Strong leadership, mentoring, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to coordinate effectively with Project Managers, field personnel, construction teams, and other project stakeholders.

• Working knowledge of construction site safety requirements and the ability to conduct and lead safety meetings.

• Ability to use required hand tools and appropriate personal protective equipment.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work from ladders or lifts, and remain standing or walking for extended periods.

• Ability to work the full project schedule, including extended hours and Saturdays based on project requirements.

• Ability and willingness to travel extensively and remain onsite for assignments lasting approximately 4 to 6 weeks.

• Approximately 50 to 60 hours per week may be required depending on project demands.

• Project assignments typically require employees to remain onsite for 4 to 6 weeks at a time.

• Long weekends at home may be scheduled from Friday through Sunday, with return to the project site by Monday.

• Lodging is provided in shared accommodations, generally with three to four employees per residence and individual bedrooms.

• Three meals are provided daily while onsite.

• Eligible employees working onsite receive a $180 daily per diem, with six per diem payments provided for each five days worked onsite.
