Your role and responsibilities As a Solution Architect for Business Automation, you will act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing technical post‑sales advice and guidance. This role involves designing architectural and technical solutions to meet customer needs. Your primary responsibilities will include: Design Technical Solutions: Provide technical solution design and architectural advice to customers, ensuring solutions meet their business requirements and needs. Partner with IBM Expert Labs sellers and account teams to develop winning technical solutions and service proposals for IBM technology engagements ensuring the proposed solution is differentiated, deliverable, and commercially competitive. Lead the creation of high‑quality client‑facing deliverables during the sales cycle, including solution architectures, effort estimations (SOW‑level), delivery roadmaps, risk/mitigation strategies, TCO/ROI models, and compelling presentation materials that clearly articulate IBM’s value proposition and win themes. Act as the primary technical trusted advisor to clients and prospects in pre‑sales situations; lead discovery workshops, present solution visions, demonstrate IBM Service capabilities. Respond to RFIs/RFPs, shape client requirements, contribute to proposal strategy and content, and collaborate with service pricing and contracts. Post‑contract award, lead the solution blueprinting and design phase: translate won scope into detailed target architectures, define technical blueprints, security controls, integration patterns, capacity plans, migration strategies, etc. Maintain deep and current expertise across the IBM technology and services portfolio and understand interoperability and consumption models to maximize IBM ecosystem leverage. Act as the technical bridge between clients, IBM account teams, global delivery centers, and ecosystem partners throughout the pursuit and delivery lifecycle. Collaborate with Customers: Act as a trusted advisor to customers, understanding their business needs and providing tailored technical solutions to address their challenges. Required technical and professional expertise Minimum of 5 years of experience in solution architecture or related technical roles, including designing, integrating, and delivering enterprise‑scale solutions. Customer‑facing and cross‑team leadership experience. Expertise in IBM Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and Business Automation platforms, including: IBM FileNet Content Manager IBM FileNet P8 Platform IBM Content Manager IBM Content Manager OnDemand IBM Content Navigator IBM Enterprise Records IBM Case Manager IBM Business Automation Workflow IBM Case Connect IBM WebSphere Application Server IBM Image Services Preferred technical and professional experience Technical Architecture Knowledge: Experience with providing architectural advice to customers, ensuring solutions meet their technical requirements and needs. This includes designing and implementing technical architectures that align with customer business goals. Solution Implementation Expertise: Experience in delivering technical solutions that meet customer business requirements, ensuring successful implementation and adoption. This involves collaborating with customers to understand their needs and providing tailored solutions. Customer‑Facing Skills: Experience with acting as a trusted advisor to customers, understanding their business needs and providing tailored technical solutions to address their challenges.
