Accounting Manager Remote – United States | Brooklyn, NY or Burlington, VT About the Role EnergyHub empowers utilities and their customers to build a cleaner, more distributed energy future — helping consumers turn smart thermostats, EVs, and batteries into virtual power plants that keep the grid stable and expand renewable capacity. We're looking for an Accounting Manager to join a growing Finance team at a pivotal moment in EnergyHub's evolution. This is a role for a technically rigorous accountant who brings precision and depth to everything they touch — someone who is energized by complexity and holds the work to an uncompromising standard. You'll own the month-end close end-to-end, serve as the technical anchor of the accounting function, and have genuine influence over how our processes and reporting evolve. You'll work within a structure set by our parent company, Alarm.com (Nasdaq: ALRM), while building something that truly serves EnergyHub. What You'll Do Own EnergyHub's month-end and quarter-end close — journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules prepared with accuracy and on time, within the broader schedule set by Alarm.com corporate accounting Evaluate and redesign the close process from the ground up, building scalable, repeatable workflows and the documentation and controls to support them Serve as the escalation point for complex or judgmental accounting matters, including revenue recognition under ASC 606 Partner with Alarm.com corporate accounting as EnergyHub's primary close liaison — meeting their standards for accuracy, documentation, and deadlines while translating requirements back to the EnergyHub team in a way that supports rather than impedes the business Partner with EnergyHub's internal teams — operations, customer success, FP&A — to provide the accounting guidance, context, and information they need to make better decisions Play a key role in EnergyHub's ERP migration — a multi-year initiative that will reshape how the accounting function operates — in partnership with Finance leadership and the broader Alarm.com project team Take on additional projects as business needs evolve — this team is growing and the scope of this role will grow with it What We're Looking For Must-Haves Bachelor's degree in Accounting Active CPA license 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and close experience in a public company environment Deep, working knowledge of U.S. GAAP — you find the technical side of accounting genuinely interesting, not just necessary Demonstrated ability to identify process gaps and build scalable solutions Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills Nice-to-Haves Experience redesigning and implementing a close process and/or building management reporting packages from the ground up Experience in SaaS, software, energy, or tech Experience with multi-entity consolidation or a subsidiary/parent company reporting structure Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) How You'll Work You hold the work to an uncompromising standard and bring deep technical knowledge to every judgment call.
