Bachoco USA is seeking a Production Supervisor for our Fort Smith, AR location.

Work Schedule: Thursday - Sunday, 11:00 pm - 11:00 am

Primary Responsibility: The Production Supervisor reports to the Superintendent and is responsible for ensuring that production on assigned line is run in an efficient and safe manner to ensure production of first-quality product to meet customer needs and specifications.

Functional Responsibilities:

• Supervise a team of hourly employees.
• Responsible for safety, performance, yields, staffing, time and attendance, training, and corrective actions for assigned shift.
• Follow and enforce the company's policies & procedures, food safety guidelines and GMP procedures.
• Work with other departments on assigned shift to ensure all customer specifications and USDA requirements are met.
• Complete daily reporting for shifts, including employee time edits.
• Maximise yields and throughputs while maintaining quality standards.
• Participate in interviews for open positions.
• Ensures that safety and job-specific training are conducted on assigned shifts.
• Ensures that assigned shift is prepared for customer and BRC audits.
• Other duties as assigned.
• This is a safety-sensitive position.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred.
  

Requirements:

• Relevant supervisory or lead experience in portioning, deboning, or evisceration poultry processing operations is preferred.
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work.
• Ability to build relationships and influence to get results.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises up to 50 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organisation's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:

Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of payroll systems, spreadsheet software and word processing software.
