Financial Reporting Analyst

Position Title Financial Reporting Analyst Location This role requires associates to be in-office 1-2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity while providing flexibility for virtual work. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a reasonable commuting distance from an office. Candidates outside that distance will not be considered unless an accommodation is granted as required by law. Responsibilities Coordinate and compile complex financial statements and analyze results. Assist in the interpretation of new accounting pronouncements and issues papers. Prepare draft responses to government and/or regulatory agencies’ requests and inquiries. Provide information for external audits. Interface with departments and management to communicate concerns and resolve issues in a timely manner. Prepare draft technical accounting position memorandums and coordinate annual and semi‑annual Risk‑Based Capital calculations for the company. Maintain and update financial analysis packages given to senior management for comparison between GAAP, BCBSA, and statutory accounting analyses. Review actual versus forecasted medical loss ratio results. Recommend and develop enhancements to accounting methods and procedures. Qualifications BA/BS in finance or accounting and a minimum of 5 years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. MBAs, CMAs, and/or CPAs are preferred. Prior experience with GAAP or statutory accounting principles and/or SEC or other financial reporting is preferred.
