Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse - $2,224 per week

Travel Nurse – Operating Room (OR RN) Location: Gardner, Massachusetts Duration: 13 weeks, 40 hours per week (10‑hour shifts) Employment type: Travel Short‑term opening for OR traveling RN; open for immediate placement. Responsibilities Assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients Provide pre‑ and post‑surgery care and education Serve as communication liaison between patients’ families and the operating team Ensure correct procedure performed on correct patient Initiate patient education plan as prescribed; teach patients and families about medication and home‑care needs Perform basic bedside care Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication; report adverse reactions Respond to patient comfort and safety needs Accurate care and handling of specimens Monitor equipment used during surgery Inventory surgical items pre‑ and post‑procedure For Circulating OR Nurses: Respond to comfort and safety needs Accurate care and handling of specimens Monitor equipment Inventory of surgical items For Scrub OR Nurses: Selection and handling of surgical instruments and supplies during procedures Inventory of surgical items pre‑ and post‑procedure For RN First Assistants: Assist physicians by delivering direct surgical care Help control bleeding Suture patients following surgery Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) license 1-2 years recent acute care experience as circulating or scrub nurse, and/or RN first assistant ACLS and BLS certification required, 1 year active Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lean, stoop; lift up to 20 lbs routinely, up to 50 lbs occasionally Ability to manage hazards from exposure to chemicals or infectious diseases in the operating room environment Benefits Weekly pay Guaranteed hours Continuing education 401(k) retirement plan Sick pay Wellness and fitness programs Referral bonus Employee assistance programs Medical, dental, and vision benefits Benefits start day one Job ID #1415534 #J-18808-Ljbffr TNAA TotalMed RN
