Advance your special education career in a full-time, contract opportunity near San Jose, CA. This position is designed for passionate educators with expertise in supporting students with moderate to severe needs, focusing on an elementary caseload. You'll work during the 2026-2027 school year (August 13th, 2026 through June 8th, 2027), helping shape a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Active California Education Specialist Instruction Credential with Moderate/Severe Authorization (required)
- Experience teaching or supporting students with moderate to severe disabilities, especially in elementary settings
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs for students with diverse learning needs
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and structured classroom climate
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to a caseload of elementary students with moderate/severe needs (ESN)
- Develop, implement, and track IEP goals in collaboration with team members, families, and specialists
- Build positive relationships with students to support social, emotional, and academic growth
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and general education staff to adapt curriculum and modify instructional approaches
- Maintain documentation and communication in compliance with district and state requirements
- Create a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment that supports all learners
