Pediatric Cardiologist Opportunity

Carilion Children's is recruiting an additional Pediatric Cardiologist to join their team at Carilion Clinic Children's Hospital located in Roanoke, Virginia. This is a great opportunity to join an established clinic-based, academic practice to provide Pediatric Cardiology services as part of the only tertiary center in southwest Virginia. In addition to clinical care, there are remarkable opportunities in teaching, clinical research, and quality improvement. The position includes a faculty appointment with Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine based in Roanoke, Virginia. A leadership opportunity as Division Chief is available for qualified candidates with greater than 5 years of experience. The new candidate would join a team of three experienced Board-Certified Pediatric Cardiologists who currently provide services for our population including General Pediatric Cardiology, Fetal Cardiology, and non-invasive imaging including Cardiac CT and cMRI. In addition to providing ambulatory care in our new state of the art facility, we provide inpatient consultation services for the pediatric inpatient units supported by the Pediatric Hospitalists, Pediatric Intensivists, Neonatologists, and Pediatric ER providers. On-call coverage is 1:3 with 24 hour on-call sonographer services provided. We are seeking candidates who possess leadership skills and excellent communication skills. Candidates must have excellent clinical experience, proven academic interest, and enthusiasm for education and teaching of fellows, residents, and students. Candidates must be ABMS/AOA Board Certified in Pediatrics and BC/BE in Pediatric Cardiology. Experience in fetal imaging is desired. Our full-service 92-bed Children's Hospital provides universal care and intensive care to neonatal pediatric and adolescent patients. It also has the second largest neonatal intensive care unit in Virginia and the only pediatric intensive care unit and dedicated pediatric unit in southwest Virginia. It includes an 8-bed PICU, a 24-bed inpatient unit and a 60-bed NICU/intermediate nursing and is part of Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, a 703-bed teaching/tertiary, Level 1 Trauma and Academic Center serving nearly one million people in western Virginia.
