Overview The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) program is a development‑focused role designed to prepare employees for a CVS Store Manager position. Over 16 weeks, candidates receive virtual and hands‑on training guided by a District Leader, Human Resources partner, Training Store Manager, and a store‑level coach. Responsibilities Communicate effectively verbally and in writing to support and lead the team. Perform customer‑care duties delivering high levels of service. Execute merchandising strategies to support store sales growth. Manage inventory and assets to maintain profitability. Actively engage with the District Manager in Key Learning Experiences for promotion development. Support the store as a member of the management team, leading consistently with CVS values and policies. Engage colleagues in supporting the company’s purpose of helping people improve their health. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor required; a four‑year college degree preferred, or relevant work experience may be considered. Willingness to accept a promotion to Store Manager at any location within the designated market. Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores in the market. Available to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs. Compensation Pay range: $18.50 – $28.67 per hour (or annual base salary).
