Hematology/Oncology Physician

HEMATOLOGY / ONCOLOGY - HUNTINGTON, WV - HUNTINGTON VA MEDICAL CENTER We are looking for a Hematology/Oncology physician for our physician medicine team at our Huntington VA Medical Center. We are seeking a highly motivated BE/BC Hematology/Oncology physician, with an unrestricted MD / DO medical license, who shares our commitment to providing excellent care to our US Veterans. The Hershel "Woody" Williams Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Huntington, W. Va. is a fully accredited 80-bed acute medical and surgical care facility that provides primary care and specialty health services, including radiology, mental health services, women's health care, prosthetics, bariatric surgery, pain management, palliative care, sleep medicine and more. This Physician is a team member of the Hematology Oncology Department within the Medical Service and practices at the independent clinical level of practice. The Physician has specialized knowledge of practice related to assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a variety of Hematology/Oncology conditions. The field of hematology disease deals with disorders of blood and coagulation disorders. The field of Oncology is the branch of medical science concerned with the study and treatment of patients with malignancies of any organ system. Specialists in this field are responsible for the nonsurgical care of a wide range of diseases, treatment and prevention of blood diseases and cancers. Major Duties but not limited to: The physician will perform or assist in related procedures. The Physician works as a member of the Hematology/Oncology Medical team at the Hershel "Woody" Williams campus of the Huntington VA Hospital. There may be sometimes that the clinician will have to visit a Community based Out-patient clinic for the purpose of meetings or trainings. Supervision of oncology fellows. (Providing guidance, oversight, and support to physicians who are in advanced training to become oncologists.) Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 430 pm Compensation / Benefits: Excellent compensation - Great base salary (350K to 400K) , based on qualifications, with annual performance pay, biennial market pay raises & annual cost of living pay raises Sign-on Incentive available - Will be authorized for highly qualified applicants.
