Respiratory Therapist

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift: 3x12.0 hours.

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, offering intensive respiratory care and transport within the facility as medically prescribed. This role involves evaluating patients and recommending treatment plans, explaining procedures and equipment to patients, and providing necessary education upon discharge.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct physician-prescribed treatments using various ventilatory equipment, oxygen, and aerosol devices.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning through multiple methods.
• Monitor oximetry and capnography according to policy.
• Review patient chest x-rays and perform pulmonary function studies.
• Assist with respiratory care procedures such as Bronchoscopy and Chest Tube placement.
• Perform tracheostomy care, arterial puncture, and monitor ventilation efficiency.
• Follow laboratory testing policies and procedures, including quality controls and maintenance.
• Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records of treatments and communicate with the care team regarding patient progress.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Relevant experience in respiratory care settings.
• Certification in BLS and ACLS.
