Dental Hygienist

Location: Chatham Dental 30 S Main St., Chatham VA 24531 Job Type: 40 Hours per Week Education: Other Diploma/Certificate Duration: permanent Job Description: Cleans teeth and examines oral areas as well as head and neck for signs of oral disease. May educate patients on oral hygiene, take and develop x-rays, or apply fluoride or sealants. Works as part of a care team that practices evidenced based medicine in a Patient Centered Medical Home model of care. Preferred Skills: Provide general and comprehensive dental hygiene services and supervise dental and clinical staff. Assist with the development, implementation and monitoring of clinical dental policies and procedures. Diagnose and evaluate dental conditions within scope of practice and maintaining accurate dental records to support diagnose/evaluation. Interpret x-rays and treat mouth diseases. Provide treatment as needed. Perform emergency evaluation on patients to reduce or eliminate pain. Assess treatment options and agree on treatment plan with patients. Instruct/educate patients in oral hygiene and dental care. Train and evaluate assigned dental staff. #J-18808-Ljbffr
