Industrial Mechanic IIIBELLE GLADE, FL 33430DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:Responsible for advanced maintenance and repair of industrial machinery and equipment, including pumps, conveyors, hydraulic systems, lubrication systems, and pneumatic systems. Work involves inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining milling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.Work is performed under minimal supervision with moderate latitude in the use of initiative. Position relies on experience and exercises some independent judgement to determine the best approach by using and interpreting policies and procedures.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:The essential functions in this job description are intended only as an illustration of the various types of duties that may be performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from job performance requirements if work is similar or related to the job.Conducts routine to complex inspections and maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdownsIdentifies mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues with industrial equipment and performs necessary repairs, including replacing or repairing defective partsPerforms preventive maintenance by lubricating equipment, including pumps, conveyors, reducers, and electric motorsDiagnoses and resolves machinery malfunctions and operational problems in a timely manner.Installs and calibrates replacement parts and components as needed; maintains accurate records of all replacements and repairsPerforms performance tests, inspections, and quality control procedures to ensure the machinery meets safety and operational standardsMaintains detailed records of maintenance and repair activities, including work orders and equipment historyWork closely with other maintenance personnel, engineers, and production staff to resolve issues and maintain efficient operationWorks collaboratively with other team members and supervisors to achieve project goalsEnsures the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all timesFollows organizational safety guidelines and protocols, performs job functions in a safe manner, and reports all safety hazards per established policies and proceduresSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:May train, coordinate, provide guidance to and review the work of lower-level staff to accomplish operational plans and resultsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial equipment, including some previous lead-worker responsibility or demonstrated ability to lead the work of others;OR a combination of experience, certification, education and training that demonstrates expertise in the related areas.CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES OR SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:NonePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience in a sugar mill processing facilityBilingual – English and SpanishKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Thorough knowledge of industrial machinery and equipmentThorough knowledge of safety protocols and compliance standards related to mechanical equipment operationSkill in using mathematics required for the workSkill in using diagnostic tools and equipmentAbility to read manuals, blueprints, schematics, and diagramsAbility to troubleshoot mechanical issues and repair equipmentAbility to work in hot, cold, wet, humid, dusty, and foggy working conditions depending on weatherAbility to plan, assign, and guide the work of assigned staffAbility to follow instructions from supervisors and senior workersAbility to follow public safety guidelines and protocols and perform job functions in a safe mannerAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those interacted with during work regardless of race, color, religious creed, national origin, ancestry, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, genetic information, disability, political affiliation, military service, or diverse cultural and linguistic backgroundsAbility to maintain regular attendance to ensure efficient and effective performance of job dutiesAMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA) REQUIREMENTS:Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks involve the periodic performance of moderately physically demanding work, usually involving lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 50 pounds).
