What you will do
\n \nPerform the installation of fire protection piping, valves and accessories for commercial and industrial application. Must be able to work alternative shifts or weekends to meet customer and/or job requirements. Must perform all duties in a safe and professional manner.
\n \nService and troubleshoot wet/dry/ pre-action systems, fire pumps-based fire sprinkler systems, and backflows, including repair and internal inspections of systems.
\n \nFollow verbal and written instructions, read, and understand complex construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications used in installation activities.
\n \nCarry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 60 pounds. Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet or more.
\n \nMaintain a clean and safe work area. Pick up and properly dispose of all trash associated with Johnson Controls Fire Protection work. Wear appropriate safety equipment as required including bump cap/hard hat, safety glasses, cut resistant gloves, face mask and safety toed boots.
\nProperly secure all Johnson Controls Fire Protection tools and equipment at the end of each work period to prevent damage or loss.
\n \nHave computer/phone skills - Word, Excel, Outlook and iPhone apps and functions
\n \nComplete and submit time reports and other documents as required.
\nBring to the immediate attention of the dispatcher/supervisor of all changes, discrepancies and coordination problems that impair activities or schedules.
\n \nOcassional working alternate shifts or weekends to meet customer service on call requirements is required.
\nPerform other duties as directed.
\n \nWhat we look for
\nRequired
\n3-5 years of experience in the industry.
\nWorking knowledge of wet, dry and pre-action sprinkler systems, and fire pump.
\nHigh School Diploma, or equivalent.
\nMust have a clean driving record.
\nFollow verbal and written instructions
\n \nPreferred
\nSprinkler and Backflow license a plus or must be obtained.
\nNICET certification is a plus.
\nCompletion of an accredited skilled-trade education program.
\n \nHIRING HOURLY RANGE: $26 - $35 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
