About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Cardiac Telemetry Stepdown/PCU Profession: Nurse Specialty: Staff Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 5 years of RN experience, with specific experience in cardiac tele department License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Experience with TAVR, watchmans, mitral clips, heart catheterizations, preop/post op open heart care - Familiarity with cardiac IV and PO management, cardiac drips, anticoagulant management, CHF, CP, arrhythmias, NSTEMI, STEMI, PE, post op CABG greater than 3 days, sepsis, pneumonia, stroke, and observation patients - Knowledge of TR band and groin management, and understanding of complications Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. This includes the prevention of illness and injury and alleviation of suffering. The RN is responsible and accountable for compliance with all standards of practice. Professional development adheres to all relevant policies, scopes, and ethics. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. The RN assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care. They manage a group of patients, serving as the primary or accountable nurse when assigned. Education of patients and families in health promotion and disease management is essential. The RN utilizes knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications. They share responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization. Compliance with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements is expected. Participation in shared governance and improvement initiatives is vital. Engagement in professional development and completing mandatory education is required. Integration of nursing research and current evidence into practice is encouraged. Providing a supportive learning environment for new employees and students is important. The RN will perform other assigned duties as necessary.
