Role Description This part-time IT Support Specialist role is a hybrid position based in Traverse City, MI, with some work-from-home flexibility. The IT Support Specialist will respond to help desk requests, provide technical support to end users, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues. Daily tasks include diagnosing problems with desktop computers and related peripherals, configuring and maintaining systems, and documenting support activities. The role also involves assisting with basic IT administration, supporting small office environments, and communicating clearly with users of varying technical backgrounds. The IT Support Specialist will collaborate with the team to ensure reliable IT operations for local organizations and uphold Traverse Technical’s community-focused service standards. Qualifications Candidates should possess skills in Technical Support and Help Desk Support for end users in small to mid-sized environments. Candidates should possess skills in Troubleshooting and Desktop Computers, including diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues. Candidates should possess skills in Information Technology fundamentals, such as operating systems, basic networking, and user account management. Strong customer service orientation, clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to explain technical concepts in accessible language. Ability to work independently, manage multiple tickets, and prioritize tasks in a hybrid on-site and remote setting. Experience supporting nonprofits or community-based organizations is beneficial.
