Chief MammographerThe Chief Mammographer is responsible for working directly with patients, staff mammographers, and physicians while administering ionizing radiation in the course of mammography procedures. This position is responsible for all the duties of a Level II mammographer. Providing direct technical and clinical support to staff mammographers oversees all technical factors related to digital mammography production as related to ACR MQSA and CRMC standards. This position recognizes, anticipates, and solves problems in a prompt and efficient manner. This position supervises and guides employees while performing services in a demeanor complimentary to customer service and medical ethics. This position is responsible for performing a variety of dependent and basic secretarial, clerical, and housekeeping functions such as examination area cleaning, telephone communications, computer system data entry, information retrieval (HIS RIS PACS), quality control, measuring and reporting, and infection control. This position will be required to work effectively with all departments in order to gain or maintain multidisciplinary accreditations. The Chief Mammographer must exercise professional judgment and perform in a demeanor complimentary to customer service and medical ethics.Education: Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology. The Chief Mammographer must be registered and in good standing with all governing bodies in Radiology.Certification & Licensures: Radiologic Technologist required BLS Healthcare provider required.Additional Certification Details: Prefer to be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Mammography and Bone Density.Experience: 5 to 10 years required.Additional Experience Requirements: The Chief Mammographer must have demonstrated a successful experienced background as a staff mammographer for a minimum of five years with a minimum of three years experience with digital mammography. Experience with modern technology MQSA standards quality control and a full compliment of invasive diagnostic and screening mammography examinations are required. Previous supervisory experience preferred.Mammography and quality control examination skills (Including image processing equipment operation performance parameters maintenance schedules clinical examinations and technical criteria). Must have knowledge and practicality for monitoring all QA and QC responsibilities. Must have working knowledge of ACR positioning skills and quality assurance standards. Must have the ability and knowledge to adapt to various mammography procedures.
