Senior Cybersecurity Analyst

As a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst, you will provide Level II support for our Security Operations Center team to include providing advanced operational support for security services, incident response activities, and cybersecurity service requests.

What Else Will You Be Doing?

• Configure, tune, and maintain cybersecurity tools and platforms to improve detection accuracy, reduce false positives, and enhance visibility across IT and OT environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve security hardware and software issues, escalating complex or systemic problems when appropriate.
• Conduct detailed security investigations and incident response activities, including alert and event analysis, containment actions, and documentation of findings.
• Analyze security alerts, logs, and operational data to identify threats, trends, repeated issues, and control weaknesses, and support remediation efforts.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, runbooks, and process flows related to cybersecurity operations and controls.
• Identify inefficiencies in cybersecurity tools, processes, and workflows and recommend improvements to enhance effectiveness and reliability.
• Maintain awareness of emerging cybersecurity threats, regulatory, vulnerabilities, and industry trends affecting IT and OT environments.
• Evaluate new threats, vulnerabilities, and security capabilities and provide informed recommendations to senior or specialist staff.
• Communicate technical findings, risks, and security concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through reports, diagrams, and presentations.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships in office, operational, and industrial environments and communicate cybersecurity concepts to non-technical personnel.
• Perform advanced investigation and response for complex security alerts across IT and OT environments, serving as an escalation point for Level I analysts and managed security providers.
• Independently analyze security events to determine scope, impact, and root cause, executing containment and response actions within established procedures.
• Maintain and continuously improve the quality of detections by tuning alerts, correlation rules, dashboards, and analytics to reduce false positives and improve accuracy.
• Coordinate response activities for moderate-severity security incidents, ensuring timely communication, documentation, and escalation to senior analysts when required.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting and analysis to identify suspicious activity, detection gaps, or control weaknesses not identified through automated alerts.
• Support onboarding of new systems and technologies by validating security logging, monitoring coverage, and investigation readiness in collaboration with other teams.
• Review and quality-check alert handling and investigations performed by Level I analysts, providing technical guidance to improve consistency and effectiveness.
• Contribute to SOC documentation, runbooks, metrics, and operational improvement efforts, supporting the ongoing maturity and reliability of security operations.

Who You Are

• Demonstrated cybersecurity knowledge and/or expertise
• Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field is valued
• Possession of a CompTIA Security+, Network+, and/or ISC 2 CC (Certified in Cybersecurity) Certifications are valued

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (1/3 of the time), and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary only if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other criteria are met. Positions in this class typically require talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions within an office working environment.
