Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of Emergency Department experience License: Licensed in Indiana Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience Description: A professional nurse is an individual accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective patient- and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes his/her own development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. The RN applies the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care. The RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies his/her educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and mentoring/precepting staff. Job Responsibilities: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates ability to make sound independent decisions. Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care and reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaborates with the patient/family and interdisciplinary services. Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patient, and family. Monitors and documents response to clinical interventions. Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient/family needs. Demonstrates and encourages teamwork. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts and implements practice changes. Complies with regulatory standards and participates in the Practice Governance model.
