Transportation Project Manager

Project ManagerWe are seeking a Project Manager for a hybrid position, allowing you the flexibility to work both on-site and remotely each week.The Transportation Project Manager will oversee the end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of over-dimensional freight, heavy loads, and complex transportation projects. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective delivery of critical equipment through close coordination with internal stakeholders, logistics providers, carriers, and regulatory authorities.The ideal candidate combines strong project management skills with deep knowledge of heavy haul transportation, special handling requirements, and regulatory compliance across domestic and international freight movements.Key Responsibilities:Project & Transportation ManagementPlan, coordinate, and manage end-to-end transportation projects involving over-dimensional, overweight, and high-value freightDevelop detailed transportation execution plans, including routing, mode selection, scheduling, warehousing/storage, and risk mitigationServe as the primary point of contact for transportation project execution from origin through final deliveryHeavy Haul & Special HandlingCoordinate heavy lift, heavy haul, and special handling requirements, including cranes, rigging, escorts, and specialized equipmentEnsure compliance with local, state, federal, and international permits, regulations, and safety requirementsManage routing surveys, feasibility studies, and engineering input as required for complex movesStakeholder & Vendor CoordinationCollaborate with internal teams (proposal and project management teams, manufacturing, and procurement) to align transportation plans with overall project schedulesSelect, manage, and oversee transportation providers, freight forwarders, carriers, and third-party logistics partnersCost, Performance & Risk ManagementIdentify and mitigate transportation risks related to scheduling, safety, compliance, and cost related concerns.Monitor budgets, track transportation costs, and identify cost-saving opportunitiesResolve delivery issues, delays, or disruptions while maintaining project timelinesCompliance & DocumentationEnsure all required transportation documentation is accurate and complete (letters of credit, permits, customs, insurance, bills of lading, etc.)
