Job Summary The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations while supporting accurate project cost tracking and financial reporting across the business. This role works closely with leadership and project managers to maintain the general ledger, oversee accounts payable and receivable, support budgeting and forecasting, and help ensure compliance with financial and tax requirements. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting fundamentals, experience with project-based environments, and a proactive mindset for improving processes and supporting business growth. Position Type: Full-time, direct hire Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience; minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience preferred Key Responsibilities Maintain the general ledger, prepare journal entries and accruals, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and support day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable activities. Track project costs and revenues, review project-related time and expense activity, and partner with project managers on budgets, forecasts, and financial performance. Maintain accurate financial records and support compliance with tax, reporting, and internal control requirements. Identify opportunities to improve accounting and project finance processes and assist with system enhancements or software implementation as needed. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a closely held or family-owned business Project accounting experience in industrial engineering, automation, or other project-based environments strongly preferred Proficiency in QuickBooks and experience supporting complex projects, job costing, revenue recognition, and project tracking Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across departments #J-18808-Ljbffr Blue Ridge Inc.
